Eight Wandering Stars 八遊星 (E.1) — Ba Zhai Eight Mansions
In Eight Mansions (八宅 Ba Zhai) Feng Shui, each house is divided into 8 sectors. Each sector is governed by one of the Eight Wandering Stars — four auspicious and four inauspicious — based on the house's sitting direction.

Life Gua — Eight Wandering Stars Map 命卦八遊星 (E.2)
For each Life Gua, the 8 sectors of any house are assigned one of the Eight Wandering Stars. East Group (東命): Gua 1, 3, 4, 9. West Group (西命): Gua 2, 6, 7, 8.

Flying Stars Periods 飛星九運 (E.3)
Feng Shui operates in 20-year periods called Yun (運). We are currently in Period 9 (九運) which runs from 2024 to 2043. The reigning star of each period is considered most powerful. Period 8 (2004–2023) featured star 8 (艮 Mountain/Earth); Period 9 features star 9 (離 Fire/South).

How to Take House Direction 量房屋方位 (E.4)
Step 1: Stand inside at the centre of the house, facing the main door (this is the Facing Direction 向).
Step 2: Take a compass reading (0°–360°). Locate the degree on the 24 Mountains chart to identify the exact Mountain sector.
Step 3: Use the correct Flying Star Period chart for the year of construction or last major renovation to get Mountain Star (山星) and Water Star (向星) numbers for all 9 sectors.
Note: Sitting direction (坐) is always Facing direction ±180°. In Flying Star, the facing palace receives the Water Star; the sitting palace receives the Mountain Star.

San He Three Harmony Structures 三合局 (E.5)
In San He Feng Shui, the Three Harmony structures describe how water flow activates specific elemental frames. Each structure has three key directional branches: a Growth point (生), a Peak/Prosperous point (旺), and a Storage/Grave point (墓庫).
